Counting down

August 3rd, 2008

August is gonna be a busy month, really busy. Plus there’s a number of things that I’ll be counting down to:

On or before the 15th the old boy’s moving pad. 21st is the old boy’s birthday and marks two years of me having a licence to drive a motor (no kills for 2 years, it’s almost a mirror of my counter-strike stats).

Then we get down to the fact that on the 30th it’ll be “I’m that little bit older” day.

Oh well, at least it’s payday on Friday!

Blog on

July 31st, 2008

Well, it seems like this iPhone app might actually get me back in the habit of using this old blog rather than it just sitting here doing nothing.

I’ve decided that as soon as I get paid at the end of the month that I’m booking tickets for the Henry Rollins show (assuming that they’re still available). It’s been years since his stand up stuff was on Channel 4 (4later anyone?) but it was awesome then so it has to be even money that it’s just as good now?

Been slowly catching up on some of the old blogs I used to read (including Alphanor!). It’s made me appreciate how everyone had their own shit to deal with.

Anyway, onwards and upwards… must buy a fan!

iPress?

Wordpress + iPhone = impressive.

It makes quite a change to be able to simply type away (or should that be tap?) without the need for a PC.

In fact the 2.0 software for the iPhone is pretty good all round. The improvements in speed, data entry & of course the addition of applications really enhance what was already a pretty impressive user experience.

In summary… get an iPhone!

What’s going on on RAW?

March 8th, 2008

Ok, that’s it.  I can’t watch it any more… who in the living hell is Mike Adamle and what in the hell is he doing on RAW.  Somebody sort it out and fire this man!

What a twat!

February 7th, 2008

Nothing fancy here. Basically Rowan Williams (the current Archbishop of Canterbury) is a complete and utter twat.

You can read more about why here. The basic gist is that:

He says Muslims should not have to choose between “the stark alternatives of cultural loyalty or state loyalty”.

which is laughable. As things stand, everyone has to make those choices. That is the way things are, introducing a second set of legal methods is ridiculous.

HMRC needs a kicking

January 10th, 2008

If you guys read this over on El Reg the way I have, methinks we should all sign this petition as it’s totally outrageous that HMRC got a kicking in the courts and are now going to simply change the law to suit their purposes.

Maybe you lot might even spread it about a bit as at the end of the day we all hate the tax man.

ECf’nW

November 22nd, 2007

I kinda think of this as an open letter to Vince McMahon.

Simple suggestions are as follows:

  1. ECW goes back to being hardcore, i.e. every match is extreme rules (this doesn’t mean every match needs a trashcan, it just means every match CAN have a trashcan, etc.)
  2. Stop eliminating the ECW originals. Sort out the fuckups and bring back RVD, Sabu, Sandman et al. Give Dreamer back his blog.
  3. Instantly terminate this pathetic “talent exchange” with Smackdown it’s so rubbish and transparent.
  4. Big Daddy V is an investment. You guys are good at building brutes. Shame that you only build them one at a time instead of at the same time so they can have matches amongst themselves instead of just always chasing title. Why is Snitsky suffering on RAW when he could be battling with Big Daddy V or Mark Henry???

More later.

TFFT3

June 11th, 2007

Virgin Media are at it again it would seem.

Now it’s going to cost Joe Public 25p per minute to call their technical support helpline. That’ll be £5 just to get through the menu system to a human being then!

TFFT2

May 30th, 2007

No more Sky+ charge for me from June :)

So in summary, leave Telewest (a.k.a. Virgin Media) and get more channels, Sky+ functions and faster ‘uncapped’ broadband for less money.

Thank fuck for that!

May 9th, 2007

Seems that Virgin Media have decided to introduce traffic shaping. Thank fuck I’ve left them then because I’d be way pissed if I was still on the cable network right now.
